H.E. Mr. Atiqullah Atifmal joined the Dubai Consulate as The Consul General in April 2011. Prior to his present post, he was working with The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan as Director General of the Parliamentary Affairs division and as Acting Director for fifth political division of the Ministry (2009- 2011). Throughout his diplomatic career Mr. Atifmal has held many major positions including Consul General in Los Angeles (2004-2008), Chief of Protocol of H.E. President Hamid Karzai (2001- 2004), Second Secretary of Afghanistan Embassy in Paris (1986-1989), Deputy Chief of Protocol of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-94).
Mr. Atifmal attended the Master Degree Program in Public Administration in California State University in 2007. He achieved his bachelor degree from Kabul University and also holds a diploma in Philosophy from Moscow State University. Mr. Atifmal received a medal of Excellence Services in 2002 and a certificate of appreciation in1993 from the Government of Afghanistan.
Mr. Atifmal is married and has 5 children, four sons one daughter.

When completed in 2011, the NCC will provide a new home and facilities for the U.S. Consulate General in Dubai, including several offices with regional responsibilities.
The NCC represents a significant commitment by the United States to a long-term presence in Dubai, and will allow the Consulate General to increase the efficiency and accessibility of its services to the public, including assisting American citizens and visa services.

Among fruits: mangos, oranges, bananas and apples are grown in abundance in different parts of the country. The main natural resources are natural gas, coal, salt and iron. The country has an expanding industry. Cotton, Textiles, sugar, cement, and chemicals play an important role in its economy. It is fed by vast hydroelectric power.Urdu is the national language and is used as a medium of understanding throughout the country. Pakistan is culturally divided into four bilingual provinces. Punjabi is spoken in the Punjab, Sindhi in Sindh, Pashto in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa, and Balochi in Balochistan. The country comprises of a vast area that was the great center of ancient civilizations of the world. Its historical sites beginning with stone-age to Twentieth Century A.D are a mirror of the life of its people who are by nature simple, virile, hospitable and hard working. Ancient sites excavated in Taxila, Harappa, and Moenjodaro speak volumes for Pakistan rich cultural background dating back to 3,000 B.C.
